It’s an oven thing — extra heat and all that!

I baked a pie. It’s going to be delicious or not. If not, I’ll have happy birds. My birds chirp with excitement when I open the back door. Yeah, some experiments have not gone as well as others. I’m counting on my Lemon-Apple pie to be a tasty success.

I had some help from Betty (Crocker) as I don’t make pie crust from scratch. Had lemon filling leftover that I mixed with apple filling. Now, if it were autumn, I’d have used fresh apples but this time of year the cost is ridiculous and they don’t taste as good, IMHO.

From start to finish, my pie:

I finally got the lattice right! I don’t even want to cut it but I will sometime today.

TIP: Don’t be afraid to try something new — mix different flavors together!
